60V 17 PaE 212 a <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted <br />of the following items: <br />• Minutes of the February 16, 1998 regular meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for February, 1998 (copy attached) <br />• Budget amendment # 03/16/98/19 (copy attached) <br />• Resolution requesting consideration of a property tax discount for the <br />elderly <br />• Budget amendment from the Job Training Partnership Act for FY 1998-99 <br />• Donation of a computer system and printer to the Enrichment Center <br />• Community Services Block Grant for Johnston-Lee Community Action, Inc. <br />• Application for release of funds from the Public School Building Capital <br />Fund for construction of Deep River Elementary School <br />• Criminal Justice Partnership Grant Application <br />• Request from Lee County Library to apply for the following grants: <br />- Universal Service Grant for E-rate Discount <br />- Federal Library Services and Technology Act Grant <br />- EZ-LSTA Grant for Basic Equipment <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution to recognize and celebrate the 150°i <br />anniversary of the Women's Rights Movement. Chairperson Matthews moved <br />approval of the following resolution, which she read aloud: <br />WHEREAS, 1998 will mark the 150°i anniversary of the Women's Rights <br />Movement in the Unites States, a bold and courageous civil rights movement that <br />began in 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York, at the first Women's Rights Convention ever <br />held; and <br />WHEREAS, the Declaration of Sentiments issued by the Convention represents <br />a work fundamental to our nation's commitment to liberty and personal freedom; and <br />2 <br />
