a00a 17 lltu ~50 ® C 0 <br />The meeting recessed until 7:00 p.m. <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m. with all members present except Commissioner <br />Reives, the meeting resumed. Chairperson Matthews opened the meeting and asked <br />Planning Board members to join the Commissioners for joint public hearings as <br />advertised for this date and time. <br />Chairperson Matthews announced that the rezoning petition by Gary M. <br />Thomas, Sr. to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Light Industrial <br />Conditional Use District approximately 32.80 acres of land at 2033 Rice Road had been <br />withdrawn. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined the first public hearing which was to amend <br />Article X, Signs Section 4 (i) and Section 5 (e) related to church or public building <br />bulletin boards and identification signs. <br />Rev. Eric Davidson, Pastor of Cumnock Baptist Church told the Boards his <br />church was currently in violation of the Zoning Ordinance, but he was in support of the <br />amendment to the Ordinance. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the proposed amendment. <br />Ms. Thompson outlined the second public hearing which was to amend Article <br />XIII, Section 3 (a) to allow an additional ten working days to the current 60-day grace <br />period for a Temporary Occupancy Permit. <br />No one spoke for or against the proposed amendment. <br />Ms. Thompson outlined the last public hearing request by Sylvester Petty to <br />rezone 3.37 acres of land from Residential Agricultural District to Residential <br />Agricultural 50/40 District at 4122 Jefferson Davis Highway. <br />Mr. Sylvester Petty of 4122 Jefferson Davis Highway spoke in favor of the <br />request because his mobile home will be too close to the highway when the four-lane is <br />constructed by his home. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />The Boards heard comments concerning the renaming of private roads for <br />E-911. The following individuals spoke in opposition to various proposed road names: <br />Gilbert Ellis, 701 Steel Bridge Road <br />Karen Floryanzia, 217 Tempting Church Road <br />Sandra Cox, 1813 Chaffin Street <br />Gussie Austin, 96 McLean Road <br />10 <br />
