County
Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board a loan commitment was executed by Lee County in
March, 1997 prior to the tax credit application to the North Carolina Housing Financing
Agency (NCHFA). The date of June, 1997 was incorporated into the loan commitment,
which reflected an anticipated approval from NCI-IFA. The application was not approved
until September, 1997. The current loan commitment with Lee County will expire on
December 1, 1998. Because of the delay in beginning the project, the County will need to
modify the existing loan commitment by extending the expiration date to March 31, 1999.
Mr. Hoyle also told the Board a Deed of Subordination for the Wilrik Hotel Apartments
LLC needed to be approved. After some discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to
approve the loan commitment letter for the Wilrik Project and to execute a corrected
Deed of Trust so the Wilrik Hotel Apartments LLC can procure a loan upon the condition
of the existing Deed of Trust.
