Ngo V 1> cF 2J3 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />APRIL 20, 1998 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />/ Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox, F. Hubert <br />it Garner, T. Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews, J. Douglas Moretz, Nathan E. Paschal <br />and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairperson Matthews presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Jimmie Cox delivered the invocation. <br />Chairperson Matthews recognized seven fifth grade students who had won an <br />essay contest for their essay on "Why I Like Living In Lee County." The essays were <br />written in conjunction with County Government Week. Each student read their essay and <br />was presented with $25.00 in cash. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle <br />asked the Board to consider a Deed of Subordination for the Wilrik Hotel Apartments <br />LLC and a Tax Department matter concerning property incorrectly listed. Commissioner <br />Cox moved to add the above mentioned items to the agenda. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay. None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes of the April 1, 1998 special meeting <br />• Minutes of the April 6, 1998 regular meeting <br />• Minutes of the April 7, 1998 special meeting <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for March, 1998 (copy attached) <br />
