b00x 17 mF 306 G J <br />Commissioner Moretz moved that a budget of $1.5 million be set for the new <br />proposed Agribusiness Center. Chairperson Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Paschal <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />Commissioner Reives stated he was not in opposition to the proposed project, but he did <br />not support the cost of the project. <br />The Board considered the acceptance of a grant for $10,000 for the Lee County <br />Pesticide Container Recycling Program. Chairperson Matthews moved to accept of the <br />above mentioned grant. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved approval of the following proclamation: <br />WHEREAS, a dramatic increase in the number of Americans needing long term <br />care will put new demands on nursing homes and those who provide nursing home care, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, today's nursing homes offer 24-hour medical nursing and <br />psychosocial care to individuals who are too frail or ill to live independently. Today's <br />nursing homes also provide specialized services to both young and old offering <br />rehabilitative, subacute, personal, hospice, and respite care, and <br />WHEREAS, long term care and nursing home care are an integral part of the <br />country's community's health care system, and <br />WHEREAS, members of the American Health Care Association proudly sponsor <br />National Nursing Honte Week 1998, Nursing Homes Where Caring Makes A Difference <br />and invite the citizens of Lee County to visit nursing facilities to benefit from the <br />knowledge and experience of their staff, residents, family members and volunteers. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Lee County Board of Commissioners proclaim the <br />week of May I I -17, 1998 as <br />5 <br />
