0 BOOK 17 P!GF 305 <br />COMPANY BASE BID ALTERNATE <br />John William Brown Company $154,000 $ 3,500 <br />Sanford, NC <br />Progressive Contracting Company $156,200 $ 4,200 <br />Sanford, NC <br />New South Construction Company $149,450 $ 3,600 <br />Sanford, NC <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to award the contract for additions <br />and renovations to the above mentioned building to New South Construction Company, <br />with a base bid of $ 149,450, with a reduction of $2,000 for an additional 45-days added to <br />the contract time. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager William Cowan discussed with the Board the Capital <br />Improvements Program (CIP) for FY 1998/1999-2002/2003. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Garner moved to schedule a public hearing for May 18, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. <br />to hear comments concerning the proposed Capital Improvements Program. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved that a resolution be submitted to the local delegation <br />allowing Mental Health departments the right to lease property from a public entity; <br />currently they can only lease from a private citizen or organization. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />el 0 4 <br />4 <br />
