Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board for the petition by <br />Cathy Knapp to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial <br />District, 2.16 acres of land on the east side of Jefferson Davis Highway. Commissioner <br />Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning <br />Board for the petition by Roy Mashburn to rezone from Residential Agricultural District <br />to Highway Commercial District, approximately 1.25 acres of land at 3216 Hawkins <br />Avenue. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning <br />Board for the preliminary plat for Zion Church Road Estates, owned by Gerald Womble. <br />Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole gave the Board a report on vehicle <br />maintenance with the City of Sanford. Mr. Cole also discussed with the Board a report he <br />had prepared pertaining to the County's vehicle fleet and replacement policy. After some <br />discussion County Manager William Cowan and Public Works Director Kenny Cole were <br />instructed to renegotiate the vehicle maintenance contract between the City of Sanford <br />and the County of Lee. <br />The Board considered bids for renovations and additions to the Department of <br />Youth and Adult Services building on Makepeace Street. County Manager William <br />Cowan told the Board the following bids had been received: <br />3 <br />
