Box 17 PISF 33 a r''` <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board on rezoning <br />matters. Chairperson Matthews moved approval of the following rezoning petitions: <br />• James H. Griffin to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to <br />Highway Commercial District, 1.03 acres of land at 3137 Jefferson <br />Davis Highway <br />• Raymond Nixon Porter, Jr. to rezone from Residential Agricultural <br />District to Highway Commercial District, .95 acres of land on <br />Jefferson Davis Highway, approximately 1/2 mile north of the <br />intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway and Rocky Fork Church Road <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Paschal <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a revision to the Lee County Personnel Policy for unused <br />sick leave for employees transferring from other State and local governmental agencies. <br />County Manager William Cowan asked the Board to consider changing the policy to <br />accept the full amount of unused sick leave balances for employees coming directly to Lee <br />County from other North Carolina state and local governmental agencies. He told the <br />Board this would help the County when recruiting employees from other agencies who <br />might be fully qualified for positions. The current policy only allows for forty (40) hours <br />of sick leave to be transferred. After some discussion, Commissioner Moretz moved to <br />approve the revision to the Lee County Personnel Policy as presented by the County <br />Manager. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Paschal <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) for FY <br />1998/1999-2002/2003. County Manager William Cowan told the Board no additional <br />changes had been made to the Plan since he presented it to the Board at the last meeting <br />on May 18, 1998. Commissioner Moretz moved approval of the following resolution: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County that the <br />document entitled "Lee County, North Carolina Capital Improvements Program, Fiscal <br />Year 1998/1999-2000/2003" which consists of a one page Introduction, a one page <br />4 <br />
