School's children are considered homeless. Mayor Mann introduced a video with <br />representatives of different organizations providing their perspective on homelessness. <br />Immediate funding is intended for the emergency shelter and grant readiness and the next <br />stage is a transitional day center. $35,000 is proposed for a rapid rehousing program. Bill <br />Hicks with Bread of Life Ministries stated that the homeless population is not what you <br />expect, most people just need temporary help. Commissioner Reives asked for the <br />number of families that the 301 homeless school children represent. Mayor Mann stated <br />the goal is to make homelessness rare, brief, and non -reoccurring. No action was taken. <br />County Attorney Whitney Parrish notified the Board regarding a need for a vote to <br />approve the Consent Agenda. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the Consent <br />Agenda as amended, which consisted of the following items: <br />A. Minutes from the April 16, 2018 Regular Meeting. <br />B. (Removed) <br />C. (Moved to New Business) <br />D. Request to use Medicaid Cost Settlement monies for clinic needs. <br />E. Request for approval of a Memorandum of Agreement between Lee County <br />Schools and the Lee County Health Department. <br />F. Amendment #9 to the Health Services Agreement with Southern Partners for inmate <br />medical care. <br />G. Request for approval of Resolution declaring five vehicles as surplus property. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried. <br />B. Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment, Article 6 Subdivision Regulations <br />Planning and Community Development Director Marshall Downey presented the <br />Lee County Planning Board's recommendation regarding a text amendment to the Unified <br />Development Ordinance, Article 6 Subdivision Regulations, to add language clarifying that <br />all proposed lots that would require a private septic system in order to be developed must <br />be approved by either a licensed soil scientist or the Lee County Environmental Health <br />Department prior to the plat being recorded. Commissioner Reives moved to approved the <br />Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendment to Article 6 Subdivision Regulations, a <br />copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof.
