i <br />eL:� 23 ��t.._�J <br />L EE OUN <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT STAFF <br />BROADWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />307 S. MAIN STREET <br />BROADWAY, NORTH CAROLINA 27505 <br />JANUARY 20. 2011 <br />A public informational meeting was held on said date to hear comments from the public <br />in reference to a revised Lee County Animal Control Ordinance. Members of the Lee County <br />Board of Commissioners, Lee County Board of Health, and staff from the Lee County Health <br />Department were in attendance for the 6 p.m. meeting held at the Broadway Elementary <br />School, 307 S. Main Street, Broadway, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Larry <br />"Doc" Oldham and Charles T. Parks. Commissioners Richard B. Hayes, Nathan E. Paschal, <br />Robert T. Reives, Linda A. Shook, and James K. Womack were absent. Staff in attendance <br />included County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, Assistant County Manager Lisa Minter, and Clerk to the <br />Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Vice - Chairman Oldham opened the session and introduced himself and Commissioner <br />Parks. He stated the event was not a meeting of the Board of Commissioners or the Board of <br />Health, but rather a meeting to educate the public about the ordinance and provide an <br />opportunity for comments. <br />Dr. David Fisher, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Health introduced himself and <br />welcomed everyone to the meeting. <br />Ms. Pam Glover, Health Educator with the Lee County Health Department asked <br />citizens to sign the "sign -up" sheet if they wished to make comments and complete a sheet <br />listing their concerns that would be compiled, summarized, and shared with the Board of <br />Health, Commissioners and Lee County attorney's. <br />Mr. Roy Warren, Director of Environmental Health and Animal Control presented a <br />power -point presentation discussing changes made to the Animal Control Ordinance. <br />The following citizens signed up to speak and were allowed up to five minutes to make <br />comments: <br />1.
