the security efforts Lee County already has in place at schools including having <br /> Student Resource Officers at every school and lockdown drills, however there is <br /> always room for improvement. Chair Dalrymple stated she has spoken with the <br /> School Superintendent who met with the Sheriff and they are working on coordinating <br /> a meeting to discuss school safety. She added that she will be meeting with Dr. <br /> Marchant from Central Carolina Community College to get his feedback. <br /> Commissioner Reives suggested including City policy as well to coordinate with all <br /> law enforcement agencies in the area. Commissioner Sloan suggested including the <br /> Emergency Management Director as well. Chair Dalrymple stated she will notify the <br /> Board through the Clerk once coordination has taken place. No action was taken. <br /> VII. MANAGER'S REPORTS <br /> A. County Manager's Monthly Report for February 2018 <br /> County Manager John Crumpton presented the Monthly Manager's Report for <br /> February 2018, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference <br /> made a part hereof. No action was taken. <br /> VIII. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS <br /> Commissioner Sloan suggested designating a county-wide trash pickup day around <br /> April 22nd which is Earth Day. Chair Dalrymple recommended doing a resolution for the <br /> Saturday prior to Earth Day. No action was taken. <br /> IX. CLOSED SESSION <br /> Commissioner Oldham moved to go into Closed Session per North Carolina <br /> General Statute Section 143-318.11(a)(5) to discuss the acquisition of real property <br /> and per North Carolina General Statute Section 143-318.11(a)(6) to discuss a <br /> personnel matter. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br /> Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br /> Nay: None <br /> The Chair ruled the motion had carried unanimously and the Board went into <br /> Closed Session. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Upon return from Closed Session, with no further business to come before the <br /> Board, Commissioner Oldham moved to adjourn the meeting.
