LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY <br />MANAGERS OFFICE OR DESIGNEE TO DIRECT AND SUPERVISE THE DISINTERMENT, REMOVAL, <br />AND REINTERMENT OF GRAVES <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 65-106 outlines the procedures to be followed by a <br />party for the disinterment, removal, and reinterment of graves; and, <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 65-106 provides that all disinterment, removal, and <br />reinterment under the provisions of Chapter 65 of the North Carolina General Statutes shall be <br />made under the supervision and direction of the County Board of Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has certified that disinterment is <br />necessary at the Shallow Well Cemetery in Lee County, for the right of way NC42 project. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of County Commissioners that the <br />County Manager's Office or designee, with the assistance of the Lee County Health Director as <br />necessary, is hereby designated as the department responsible for the supervision and <br />direction of the disinterment, removal, and reinterment of graves. <br />ADOPTED this 19th day of March, 2018. <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Amy Dalrymple, Chair <br />Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />e, Clerk to the Board <br />
