800K ul PAC' �f� ` fit <br />LEE COUNTY <br />F Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />4.IY <br />PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH AND HEALTH DEPARTMENT STAFF <br />DEEP RIVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />7908 DEEP RIVER ROAD <br />SANFORD NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JANUARY 6, 2011 <br />A public informational meeting was held on said date to hear comments from the public in <br />reference to a revised Lee County Animal Control Ordinance. Members of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners, Lee County Board of Health, and staff from the Lee County Health Department were in <br />attendance for the 6 p.m. meeting held at the Deep River Elementary School, 7908 Deep River Road, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Larry "Doc" Oldham, Charles T. Parks, and <br />James K. Womack, Jr. Commissioners Richard B. Hayes, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and <br />Linda A. Shook were absent. Staff in attendance included County Manager John Crumpton, Deputy <br />County Attorney Dale Talbert, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Vice - Chairman Oldham opened the session and introduced himself and other Commissioners <br />present. Mr. Oldham stated the event was not a meeting of,the Board of Commissioners or the Board <br />of Health, but rather a meeting to educate th'e' public about .the - ordinance and provide an opportunity for <br />comments. <br />Dr. David Fisher, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Health introduced himself and members <br />of the Board of Health that were present. <br />Ms. Pam Glover, Health Educator with the Lee County Health Department asked citizens to sign <br />the "sign -up sheet" if they wished to make comments and complete a sheet listing their concerns that <br />would be compiled, summarized, and shared with the Board of Health, Board of Commissioners and <br />Lee County attorney's. <br />Mr. Health Cain, Public Health Preparedness Director presented a power -point presentation <br />discussing changes made to the Animal Control Ordinance. <br />The following citizens signed up to speak and were allowed up to five minutes to make <br />comments: <br />1. Joe West, 4115 Henley Road, Sanford <br />5. Dallas and Marie Harper, 3511 Cemetery Road, Sanford <br />6. Georgann Gregg, Moncure <br />
