BOOK 23 PAGE 876 <br />Section 2. Election and Term <br />The Committee shall elect, Prom its own mernbership, a Chairperson, a Vice - Chairperson, and a <br />Secretary who shall serve a one -year term or until their death, resignation, retirement, removal <br />disqualification or successor shall have been elected and qualified. <br />In the last quarter of each calendar year, an election shall be held to elect the Chairperson, Vice - <br />Chairperson, and Secretary for that year. <br />Section 3. Removal <br />The Chairperson and/or Vice - Chairperson may be removed by vote from the Committee <br />whenever, in its judgment, the best interest of the Committee will be served thereby. The vote <br />will be in accordance with the provisions of Article VII, Section 4 and must pass by a 50% + 1 <br />margin of the voting members present in concert with the definition of a quorum. <br />Section 4. Vacancies <br />The Committee shall fill all vacancies caused by death, resignation, or other reason, except as <br />otherwise provided in Article IV, Section 2. <br />ARTICLE V <br />DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS <br />Section 1. Duties of the Chairperson <br />The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the Committee; shall preserve order during the <br />meetings; shall establish all subcommittees and ad -hoc committees; shall serve as an ex -officio <br />member of any such subcommittee; shall appoint a recording secretary; and shall sign all <br />minutes and such records, vouchers, or other documents connected with the work of the <br />Committee requiring such signature. <br />The Chairperson, pending appropriate City /County government approval, will accept all <br />donated property to the LEPC. <br />Section 2. Duties of the Vice - Chairperson <br />In the absence of the Chairperson or in the event of his inability or refusal to act, the Vice - <br />Chairperson, unless otherwise determined by the Committee, shall perform the duties of the <br />Chairperson, and when so acting shall have all the powers of the Chairperson. He or she shall <br />exercise such other duties as, from time to time, may be assigned to him by the Chairperson or <br />the Committee. <br />0 <br />
