Election and Term The Committee shall elect, Prom its own mernbership, a Chairperson, a Vice - Chairperson, and a Secretary who shall serve a one -year term or until their death, resignation, retirement, removal disqualification or successor shall have been elected and qualified. In the last quarter of each calendar year, an election shall be held to elect the Chairperson, Vice - Chairperson, and Secretary for that year. Section 3. Removal The Chairperson and/or Vice - Chairperson may be removed by vote from the Committee whenever, in its judgment, the best interest of the Committee will be served thereby. The vote will be in accordance with the provisions of Article VII, Section 4 and must pass by a 50% + 1 margin of the voting members present in concert with the definition of a quorum. Section 4. Vacancies The Committee shall fill all vacancies caused by death, resignation, or other reason, except as otherwise provided in Article IV, Section 2. ARTICLE V DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS Section 1. Duties of the Chairperson The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the Committee; shall preserve order during the meetings; shall establish all subcommittees and ad -hoc committees; shall serve as an ex -officio member of any such subcommittee; shall appoint a recording secretary; and shall sign all minutes and such records, vouchers, or other documents connected with the work of the Committee requiring such signature. The Chairperson, pending appropriate City /County government approval, will accept all donated property to the LEPC. Section 2. Duties of the Vice - Chairperson In the absence of the Chairperson or in the event of his inability or refusal to act, the Vice - Chairperson, unless otherwise determined by the Committee, shall perform the duties of the Chairperson, and when so acting shall have all the powers of the Chairperson. He or she shall exercise such other duties as, from time to time, may be assigned to him by the Chairperson or the Committee. 0
