BK 0029 PG 0495 <br />Addressing Security in County Government Buildings - Security measures have been put in <br />place at the Government Center. Security cameras at the library are in operation. Commissioner <br />Reives recommended obtaining prices on protective glass in customer service areas and to take a <br />look at some numbers for the metal detector and accompanied officer cost for the budget <br />Ideas for Addressina Trash Issue - Discussion involved speaking with the Sherrifs <br />Department on initiatives that can be taken. County Manager John Crumpton recommended <br />having a discussion with the District Attorney regarding enforcement. <br />Develooment of Opioid Task Force - City Councilman Chas Post Is working on a task force <br />and has asked Lee County to get involved. Information regarding Countywide statistics was <br />provided with 37 opioid and 12 heroin overdoses occurring in 2016 compared to 59 opiokf and 48 <br />heroin overdoses occurring In 2017 along with EMS supplying 96 doses of Narcan. The task force <br />includes the Lee County Health Director, multiple Sheriff's deputies, and representation from the <br />Board of Commissioners. The two general areas the task force is seeking improvement in includes <br />education to stop young people from becoming hooked on the drugs and treatment for those who <br />are. <br />Commissioner Reives requested a comprehensive master list of upcoming County <br />obligations for budget consideration. <br />With no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Reim moved to <br />adjourn the meeting.
