Reauest to the Board of Education Reaardina Potential Impact of Charter Schools <br />Commissioner Reives requested information from the Lee County School <br />District Superintendent regarding the difference between public schools versus <br />charter schools along with the availability of a representative to answer questions <br />from the Board. No action was taken. <br />VII. MANAGER'S REPORTS <br />A. County Manager's Monthly Report for January 2018 <br />Assistant County Manager/Finance Director Lisa Minter presented the Financial <br />Report for December 2017. No action was taken. <br />VIII. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS <br />IX. CLOSED SESSION <br />Commissioner Oldham moved to go into Closed Session per North Carolina <br />General Statute Section 143-318.11(a)(4) to discuss matters relating to the location or <br />expansion of business and per North Carolina General Statute Section 143- <br />318.11(ax5)-(6) to discuss personnel related matters. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried unanimously and the Board went into <br />Closed Session. <br />Upon return from Closed Session, Commissioner Sloan moved to hold public <br />hearings for economic development projects Wolfpack, Eagle, and Temperature at the <br />February 19, 2018 Board of Commissioners Meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried unanimously. <br />Page 617 <br />
