BK 0029 PG 0473 County's deer hunting gun season by including Lee County with the Eastern or proposed Southeastern Zone and directing the Clerk to forward copies of the resolution to the Executive Director of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Senator Ronald Rabin, Representatives Reaves, II and John Sauls, the Sanford City Council, and the Town Council of Broadway. Commissioner Sharpe moved to approve the resolution, a copy of which as attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reaves, Sharpe, Sloan Nay: None Absent: Dodson The Chair ruled the motion had carried unanimously. B. Consideration of Lease Space in a Spec Building at CCEP The County is proposing to participate in leasing a building owned by Samet Properties LLC, which will be located at Central Carolina Enterprise Park. Once the building is completed, the City of Sanford and the County of Lee will each lease the building for $13,541.67 per month, for up to twenty-four months with a total spent from the Lee County General Fund of up to $325,000.00. The public hearing was held at the January 1W, meeting, with no one speaking an favor or in opposition of the project. Commissioner Oldham moved to participate in the lease of a spec building which will be located at Central Carolina Enterprise Park, a copy of the resolution Is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. County Manager John Crumpton stated that the lease will have to be presented to the Board for approval. After discussion, Commissioner Reaves moved to call the question. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Dalrymple, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan Nay: Knecht Absent: Dodson The Chair ruled the motion had carried 4 to 1. C. Consideration of Bid for the Colon Road Water Proiect On Wednesday, January 24, 2018 the Finance Department received bids for the Colon Road Water Project. Only one bid was submitted to the County. Due to the County policy, the project had to be re -bid for at least one week and re -advertised. The County received two bids on Friday, February 2. Mike Apke with McGill and Associates evaluated the bids and provided the County with a letter recommending that the County award the contract to Sandhills Contractors, who is the lowest responsible bidder. The total project budget for this project is $350,000. Engineering fees, right of way costs, and other costs will be around $55,000, leaving a contingency of around $5,000. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the bid from Sandhills Contractors in the amount of $290,252.
