BK 0029 PG 0473 <br />County's deer hunting gun season by including Lee County with the Eastern or proposed <br />Southeastern Zone and directing the Clerk to forward copies of the resolution to the <br />Executive Director of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, Senator Ronald <br />Rabin, Representatives Reaves, II and John Sauls, the Sanford City Council, and the Town <br />Council of Broadway. Commissioner Sharpe moved to approve the resolution, a copy of <br />which as attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reaves, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried unanimously. <br />B. Consideration of Lease Space in a Spec Building at CCEP <br />The County is proposing to participate in leasing a building owned by Samet <br />Properties LLC, which will be located at Central Carolina Enterprise Park. Once the <br />building is completed, the City of Sanford and the County of Lee will each lease the <br />building for $13,541.67 per month, for up to twenty-four months with a total spent from the <br />Lee County General Fund of up to $325,000.00. The public hearing was held at the <br />January 1W, meeting, with no one speaking an favor or in opposition of the project. <br />Commissioner Oldham moved to participate in the lease of a spec building which will be <br />located at Central Carolina Enterprise Park, a copy of the resolution Is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. County Manager John Crumpton stated <br />that the lease will have to be presented to the Board for approval. After discussion, <br />Commissioner Reaves moved to call the question. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: Knecht <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried 4 to 1. <br />C. Consideration of Bid for the Colon Road Water Proiect <br />On Wednesday, January 24, 2018 the Finance Department received bids for the <br />Colon Road Water Project. Only one bid was submitted to the County. Due to the County <br />policy, the project had to be re -bid for at least one week and re -advertised. The County <br />received two bids on Friday, February 2. Mike Apke with McGill and Associates evaluated <br />the bids and provided the County with a letter recommending that the County award the <br />contract to Sandhills Contractors, who is the lowest responsible bidder. The total project <br />budget for this project is $350,000. Engineering fees, right of way costs, and other costs <br />will be around $55,000, leaving a contingency of around $5,000. Commissioner Reives <br />moved to approve the bid from Sandhills Contractors in the amount of $290,252.
