NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />as follows: <br />1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners asks the North Carolina General Assembly <br />to consider allowing Local Governments in North Carolina the discretion to extend <br />the tax delinquency date for property taxes by the same number of days that the local <br />tax office is closed for any natural disaster or occurrence due to extremely hazardous <br />conditions. <br />2. That a copy of this resolution be delivered to Senator Ron Rabin, Representative John <br />Sauls and Representative Robert Reives by the Clerk of the Board asking for their <br />support by passing legislation that would allow counties the ability to extend the <br />delinquency date under the above stated circumstances. <br />3. That a copy be sent to the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners <br />seeking their support to changing the Machinery Act to give Board's of County <br />Commissioners the flexibility to deal with these issues that impact the citizens of <br />North Carolina. <br />G <br />Dated this the g�'?r, day of )�'��' �;� , 2018. <br />Amy M.
