LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />DECEMBER 11, 2017 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Room, First Floor, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present when <br />the meeting was called to order were Amy M. Dalrymple, Kevin C. Dodson, Dr. Andre Knecht, <br />Larry "Doc" Oldham, Robert T. Reives, Cameron W. Sharpe, and Timothy S. Sloan. <br />CALL TO ORDER - County Attorney Whitney Parrish called the meeting to order. <br />INVOCATION — Reverend Estes delivered the invocation on behalf of Commissioner <br />Dodson. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. <br />I. ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD <br />County Attorney Whitney Parrish led the discussion on the re -organization of the Board. <br />Attorney Parrish discussed the selection of a Chairman and a Vice Chairman for a one-year term <br />and the means by which to vote. Commissioner Knecht moved to vote by voice. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Attorney Parrish ruled that the motion had been adopted unanimously and that the voting <br />would take place by voice. <br />The Board considered the appointment of a Chairman for the upcoming year. <br />Commissioner Reives nominated Commissioner Dalrymple as Chair for the upcoming year. <br />Commissioner Sloan moved for the nominations for Chair to be closed. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Dodson, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Attorney Parrish ruled that the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Page 119 <br />
