I. Purchase Agreement for the Purchase of Property Located at O'Quinn Road, Lot 2B <br />(PIN # 9662-38-0678-00) in Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina <br />County Attorney Whitney Parrish stated that in order to expand the property Lee <br />County Owns at San Lee Park, the agreement proposes an opportunity to purchase 6.83 <br />acres of land from Mr. Gordon Boyer located on O'Quinn Road, Lot 2B PIN 9662-38-0678- <br />00 for $38,500.00. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the purchase agreement, a <br />copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried. <br />J. Request to Conduct a Conceal Carry Survey Among County Staff <br />Commissioner Reives requested consideration of staff feedback regarding the issue <br />of Conceal Carry on County property stating that "we are employers and we have a duty <br />and responsibility to look after the staff of Lee County." Following discussion, <br />Commissioner Reives moved to authorize the County Manager to delegate a <br />responsible person to conduct a survey of all employees. Upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sharpe, Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dodson <br />The Chair ruled the motion had carried. <br />VII. MANAGER'S REPORTS <br />A. October 2017 Financial Report <br />Finance Director Lisa Minter presented the October 2017 Financial Report. No <br />action was taken. <br />B. County Manager's Monthly Report for October 2017 <br />County Manager John Crumpton presented his Monthly Report for November 2017, <br />a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Mr. Crumpton requested the consideration of a revised meeting schedule for the month <br />of December. Due to the Sanford Christmas Parade coinciding with the regular Board <br />of Commissioner Meeting Schedule on December 4th, Mr. Crumpton requested altering <br />the schedule. Commissioner Reives proposed one meeting. Commissioner Sloan <br />requested the meeting take place on December 11th.
