0 008 <br />6cUK 17 FaGE 35? <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairperson Matthews asked for comments concerning the public hearing <br />requesting a portion of Lee's Chapel Road (SR 1424) be renamed ROD Sullivan Road. <br />Commissioner Garner asked to be excused from voting due to a personal interest in the <br />matter. Commissioner Mansfield moved to excuse Commissioner Garner from voting. <br />Commission Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Ms. Delano Riddle Borys of 713 Lee's Chapel Road spoke in favor of renaming the road <br />ROD Sullivan Road. <br />Mr. Chris Nance spoke in favor of naming the road Woodrow Holder Road. <br />Planner Althea Thompson presented to the Commissioners and Planning Board <br />members a petition by Robert Pilson to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to <br />Residential Agricultural 35/30 District, 1.70 acres of land at 2510 Nicholson Road. <br />Mr. Robert Pilson of 2510 Nicholson Road spoke in favor of the rezoning <br />request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the second rezoning petition by Stan Hales to rezone <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District, 4.74 acres of land <br />on the east side of Jefferson Davis Highway approximately 250 feet south of the <br />intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway and Hickory House Road. <br />Mr. Stan Hales of 1405 Gormly Circle spoke in favor of the rezoning request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board Commissioner Garner <br />moved to recess the meeting until 7:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 1998, for a Finance <br />Committee meeting.
