Commissioner Moretz seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote of the amended motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a contract for property and liability and workers' <br />compensation insurance for FY 1998-99. County Manager William Cowan told the Board <br />the following proposals had been received : <br />Property and Liability <br />N. C. Counties Pool Fund $230,412 <br />A. J. Gallagher & Company $110,155 <br />Local Agencies No Bid <br />Workers Compensation <br />N. C. Counties Pool Fund $199,043 <br />A. J. Gallagher & Company $126,590 <br />BB&T Insurance Services $124,097 <br />Mr. Cowan told the Board Safety and Training Offcer Bob Brown recommends the <br />County enter into a contract with A. J. Gallagher & Company for property and liability <br />coverage and BB&T Insurance Services for workers' compensation coverage. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to accept the recommendation of the Safety and Training <br />Officer to enter into the above contracts. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The meeting recessed until 7:00 p.m. <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom # 4 at the old Lee County Courthouse, <br />the meeting resumed with all members present except Commissioner Paschal, who had <br />been excused. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to open the public hearings that had been advertised for <br />this date and time. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />7 <br />
