Commissioner Garner moved to approve the amended contact as presented. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered an amended contract for planning services between the City of Sanford and the County of Lee. Community Development Director Reggie Scales went over changes to the current contract and answered questions from Board members. After some discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to approve the revised contract as presented. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion. After further discussion, Commissioner Mansfield made an amended motion for the Board of Commissioners to adopt a resolution submitting to the Sanford City Council the proposition that Lee County continue to contract with the City of Sanford to provide staff for planning services if the City of Sanford will contract with the County to provide staff for inspection services as related to the state building codes. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote on the amended motion, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: Garner and Paschal The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two vote. Commissioner Reives made a motion for the County Manager to contact the City of Sanford and inform them should the above contract be agreed upon, the City would still need to regulate the enforcement of City codes and ordinances.
