aocl< 17 p.,GF 345 <br />001 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JUNE 15, 1998 <br />**sat****************************+*****t*~****r*****+******************* <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox, F. Hubert <br />Garner, T. Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews, J. Douglas Moretz, Nathan E. Paschal <br />/ and Robert T. Reives. <br />J <br />Chairperson Matthews presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Rev. Eugene Powers, Pastor of Church of God delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Chairperson Matthews asked the <br />Board to approve, under the consent agenda, resolutions listed on the agenda for <br />presentation later in the meeting. She also asked the Board to approve a letter of <br />appreciation to Mrs. Glenda Tabon for the recent cleanup program at Oakwood Avenue <br />Apartments. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked the Board to approve a renewal <br />agreement to lease space to the State of North Carolina Department of Correction, Adult <br />Probation and Parole office at the old Lee County Courthouse. Chairperson Matthews <br />told Board members consideration of the Budget Ordinance and Tax Levy for FY 1998-99 <br />and appointments to the Board of Trustees to control cemeteries in Lee County would be <br />deleted from the agenda. Commissioner Garner moved to add the above mentioned items <br />to the agenda. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives asked that a correction be made to the minutes of the last <br />meeting. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved approval of the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />
