Chairperson Matthews moved to allow Commissioner Garner to abstain from voting. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the renaming of a portion of Lee's Chapel Road to ROD Sullivan Road. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Garner made a motion that the North Carolina Department of Transportation conduct a traffic study on the above mentioned road and place signs which read "Caution Children Playing" in the area between Farrell Road and the entrance into the new airport. The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board on recent rezoning requests. Commissioner Mansfield moved to approve the following requests: • petition by Robert Pilson to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Residential Agricultural 35/30 District 1.70 acres of land at 2510 Nicholson Road • petition by Stan Hales to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District, 4.74 acres of land on the east side of Jefferson Davis Highway, beginning at a point approximately 250 feet south of the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway and Hickory House Road Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: 6
