0 BOOK 17 PGGE 416 005 <br />THAT WHEREAS, the County of Lee desires to upgrade the existing appraisal <br />software that will bring a new level of technology, speed and simplicity to the County's <br />appraisal process; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee desires to purchase appraisal software for the Tax <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee desires to purchase from established contract from <br />Halifax County pursuant to the authority set out in NCGS 143-129(8); and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee has published a Public Notice in a local newspaper <br />as required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, effort has been made to determine that the price and terms offered by <br />the vendor are as good or better than those that could be obtained through bidding, and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the County of Lee that Cole, Layer and <br />Trumble Company is a responsible entity, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee considers it in the <br />best interest of the County to proceed with the contract of Cole, Layer and Trumble <br />Company and to award the subject to said entity and to make provisions for execution of <br />all documents necessary in order to effectuate such award: <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Lee that the purchase of appraisal software for the Tax Department pursuant to <br />the terms and conditions set out in NCGS 143-129(g) shall be and the same is hereby <br />awarded to Cole, Layer and Trumble Company for the sum not to exceed $126,150.00, <br />that the appropriate representatives of the County of Lee shall prepare and otherwise <br />provide all necessary contract documents and issue required purchasing forms in order to <br />effectuate such award, and that the County Manager of the County of Lee shall be and he <br />is hereby authorized to execute said documents on behalf of the County of Lee upon <br />review and approval thereof by the County Attorney of said County. <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay. None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a recommendation from the Planning Board for the <br />renaming of a portion of Lee's Chapel Road. Don Kovasckitz, E-91 I Coordinator told <br />the Board the Planning Board voted to rename the portion of Lee's Chapel Road running <br />5 <br />
