0 BOOK 17 PACF 430 <br />005 <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the proposed new Lee County Forestry facility. <br />Commissioner Cox expressed concern that the originally planned building was estimated <br />at $150,000. That amount has now gone to 5181,000 and he is not comfortable with <br />giving money to a group that keeps changing their minds. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to go ahead with the plans as they currently are to build <br />the office and separate storage building in two phases, and get approval from Victor <br />Harris, Head of Engineering Services prior to beginning each phase. Commissioner <br />Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: Cox and Mansfield <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two vote. <br />Commissioner Mansfield stated that he was not against the project but the way in <br />which it had been handled. <br />After still further discussion, Commissioner Cox moved to table the matter until <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole could get more figures together on the cost. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox and Mansfield <br />Nay: Garner, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been defeated by a five to two vote. <br />The Board considered bids for Horton Park basketball court. Public Works <br />Director Kenny Cole told the Board he had received the following bids for a 70' x 100' <br />basketball court at Horton Park: <br />Lee Thomas Concrete Company $31,800 <br />Dan Godfrey Concrete Company No Bid <br />Jack Godfrey Concrete Company No Bid <br />Mr. Cole told the Board he had received two additional bids prior to the beginning of this <br />meeting from the following: <br />5 <br />
