® BGGK 17 PAGE 431 <br />004 <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the preliminary plat survey for Deer Run <br />Subdivision Phase II and the final plat for Zion Church Road Estate. Commissioner <br />Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews. Morctz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered food purchase orders for the Sheriff's Department. Sheriff <br />Billy Bryant asked the Board to consider blanket purchase orders for various vendors to <br />purchase food and supplies for his department for the upcoming year. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Cox moved to approve blanket purchase orders from the <br />following vendors for the upcoming year: <br />Food Cost <br />SLln12lle5 Cost <br />Alliant Food Service, Inc. <br />$18,000 <br />$1,000 <br />Institution Food House, Inc. <br />19,000 <br />2,000 <br />Maola Milk <br />12,000 <br />Pate-Derby Company <br />50,000 <br />1,000 <br />PYA <br />24,000 <br />1,000 <br />Sysco Food Service of Charlotte <br />30,000 <br />2,000 <br />U.S. Food Service/Biggers Division <br />35,000 <br />2,000 <br />Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole gave the Board an update on the Lee County <br />C & D Landfill. He told the Board that in March, 1998 the landfill began staying open on <br />Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. He gave the Board an average of what it costs <br />to operate the facility on Saturday and the average number of customers and collections. <br />He recommended to the Board that the landfill begin staying open one-half day on <br />Saturdays, which would reduce the operating cost. Commissioner Reives moved that <br />effective September 1, 1998, the Lee County C & D Landfill be open on Saturdays from <br />8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />4 <br />
