0 0 <br />003 <br />550K 17 PAGE 430 <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered on call pay for various Lee County employees. <br />Commissioner Mansfield stated that he thought on call employees should receive more <br />than the $50 per week the Board approved at the June 15, 1998 meeting. After much <br />discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to table the matter and to appoint a committee <br />to work with the Personnel Office and department heads to develop a policy to be brought <br />back to the Board for consideration. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion. <br />Commissioner Cox made a substitute motion to change the $50 per week pay to an <br />amount equal to the average per day pay for each of the positions in question plus give <br />them time-and-a-half pay for any time they go out on a call. Upon a vote of the motion to <br />table, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Paschal <br />Nay: Cox and Reives <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion to table was approved by a five to two vote. A <br />committee of Chairperson Matthews, Commissioner Cox, Social Services Director <br />Brenda Potts, Health Director Phyllis Lowry, Animal Control Officer Melissa Cook, <br />Social Worker Kelly Smith, and Maintenance Mechanic Sam Parker was appointed to <br />study the matter and bring a recommendation back to the Board. <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Commissioner <br />Moretz asked to abstain from voting on the matter concerning his rezoning request. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved Commissioner Moretz be allowed to abstain from <br />voting. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairperson Matthews moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning <br />Board for the petition by Doug Moretz to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to <br />Office and Institutional District approximately .32 acres of land at 4001 Hawkins <br />Avenue.
