005 <br />b6a 17 W f 446 <br />• resolution awarding a contract to purchase hardware, associated <br />software and peripherals, a copy of which is attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof <br />• approval of Informix system software to run tax applications in the <br />amount of $28,810.00 from Computer Center Software <br />Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the purchase of a fingerprinting scanner for the Sheriff's <br />Department. Sheriff Billy Bryant told the Board the SBI, under the guidance of the <br />Criminal Justice Information Network and the Governor's Crime Commissioner is <br />moving forward to place live scan fingerprinting devices in all one hundred counties. <br />Currently, state and federal monies are available to place such a device in Lee County. <br />Lee County will be responsible for the $12,750 yearly recurring expenses to operate this <br />equipment. Sheriff Bryant introduced Larry Wilkie from the State Bureau of <br />Investigation, who briefly outlined the fingerprinting device. Commissioner Reives <br />moved to approve the above request. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Mansfield. Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an upset bid for property located on Martin Street. County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board that on July 31, 1998, an offer of $2,795.00 was <br />received for a vacant lot on Martin Street which the County currently owns. At the <br />August 10, 1998 meeting the Board adopted a resolution to initiate the upset bid <br />procedure for sale of the fee interest property. A public notice of this offer was published <br />in The Sanford Herald on August 14, 1998. Both the resolution and the public notice <br />provided that the Board could reject any and all bids received. On August 28, 1998 the <br />County received an additional offer of $3,800.00 for this property. Mr. Hoyle told the <br />Board they had the following options to consider: <br />• accept the $2,795.00 bid <br />• reject the 52,795.00 bid <br />• adopt a resolution initiating the upset bid procedure on the 53,800.00 <br />offer <br />• reject all bids <br />5 <br />
