BOOK 17 PAGE 482 s <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />AND THE <br />CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY COLLEGE <br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br />OCTOBER 14, 1998 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina and the Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) Board of Trustees <br />convened at 7:00 p.m. at the Denis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash Street, Sanford, <br />North Carolina. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox, F. Hubert Garner, T. Ervin <br />Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews and Nathan E. Paschal. Commissioners J. Douglas <br />Moretz and Robert T. Reives were absent. Others present by invitation were County <br />Manager William K. Cowan and Clerk to the Board Gaynell M. Lee. <br />Central Carolina Community College Board of Trustees hosted a dinner and Dr. <br />Marvin Joyner, President of CCCC, presented an informal presentation on recently <br />completed projects at the college, concerns the college faces in the upcoming years and <br />possible strategies to help alleviate overcrowding and space needs. Dr. Joyner thanked <br />the Commissioners for their support of the college during the 1998-99 budget process and <br />asked that the college be included in planning sessions for the 1999-2000 Lee County <br />budget. <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. <br />Bertha L.
