BOOK PROF 496 0 <br />• minutes of the October 14, 1998 special meeting with the Central Carolina <br />Community College Board of Trustees <br />• minutes of the October 19, 1998 regular meeting <br />• proclamation to declare the week of November 22-28, 1998 as Faris-City <br />Week <br />• proclamation to declare November 15, 1998 as America Recycles Day <br />• purchase order to Todco, Inc. in the amount of 533,000 for grinding of landfill <br />yard waste <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager William Cowan outlined for the Board the procedure used for <br />notifying the Lee County House of Representative and Senate delegation members <br />concerning proposed legislation for an act to regulate hunting in Lee County. The <br />Board approved this proposed legislation in May, 1998. No action was taken on the <br />matter. <br />Mr. Murray Gould from Affordable Housing Advisors LLC gave the Board an <br />update on the Wilrik Hotel Project. He told the Board the project is seventy-five percent <br />complete and the first tenants should be in the building by the first of January, 1999. The <br />building will consist of forty-one apartments; thirty-eight of those apartments will be <br />rented based on income of the occupants. The three remaining apartments will be rented <br />at market rate with no income restrictions. A dedication ceremony and open house is <br />tentatively scheduled for January 22 and 23, 1999. County Manager William Cowan and <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle were instructed to work with Mr. Gould concerning an <br />agreement for parking spaces in the County-owned parking deck across from the <br />Cooperative Extension Office. <br />Mr. Tom Trowbridge from The Wooten Company presented drawings of the <br />proposed Agribusiness Center to the Board. He told the Board the drawings have been <br />submitted to the Department of Insurance, North Carolina Department of Transportation, <br />and the Lee County Inspections, Planning, and Health Departments for approval. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Mansfield moved for Mr. Trowbridge to advertise for <br />bids for construction of the proposed Agribusiness Center. Commissioner Cox seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />2 <br />
