0 nox 17 PaGF 0 0 3 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />DECEMBER 7, 1998 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillerest Drive, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, <br />Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives and John I. <br />Sauls. <br />Chairperson Matthews presided and the following business was transacted. <br />J Commissioner Garner delivered the invocation. <br />Chairperson Matthews recognized County Attorney K. R. Hoyle who conducted the <br />election of a Chairman for a one-year term. Ballots were passed out and tabulated with the <br />following votes recorded: <br />COMMISSIONER VOTED FOR <br />Adams <br />Hincks <br />Garner <br />Matthews <br />Hincks <br />Hincks <br />Matthews <br />Matthews <br />Paschal <br />Hincks <br />Reives <br />Matthews <br />Sauls <br />Hincks <br />Attorney Hoyle announced that Commissioner Matthews had received three votes and <br />Commissioner Hincks had received four votes, therefore Commissioner Herbert A. Hincks <br />had been elected Chairman for the coming year. <br />County Attorney K. R. I-loyle called for the election of a Vice Chairman for a one- <br />year term. Ballots were passed out and tabulated with the following votes recorded: <br />COMMISSIONER VOTED FOR <br />Adams <br />Paschal <br />Garner <br />Garner <br />Hincks <br />Paschal <br />Matthews <br />Gamer <br />Paschal <br />Paschal <br />
