; . 008 <br />BOOK 17 NGF 529 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />DECEMBER 14, 1998 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 <br />Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad <br />Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives <br />and John I. SaulS. Chairman Hincks informed members that Commissioner F. Hubert <br />Garner would be joining the meeting later. <br />J Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner John Sauls delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Chairman Hincks asked the <br />Board to allow him to recess the regular meeting at the conclusion of business and go <br />into the Water and Sewer District meeting before conducting the three advertised public <br />hearings. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the Chainnan's request. <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Rcives moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for November, 1998 <br />• Budget amendments from the Health Department: <br />• acceptance of$1,000 from Lederle-Praxis for the Baby Bucks <br />Program <br />• acceptance of $994 from the School-Site Immunization <br />Incentive Program for hepatitis B injections for middle <br />school sixth graders <br />• acceptance of $39,680 from the Duke Endowment Grant to <br />employ a Community Services Consultant <br />
