BOOK V nGE 536 <br />H <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />JANUARY 4, 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />J of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were F. Hubert Gamer, Herbert <br />A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives and John L Sauls. <br />Chairman Hincks informed members that Commissioner W. Chad Adams would be <br />joining the meeting later. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Chairman Hincks told Board <br />members that Commissioner Adams would discuss a proposed joint meeting with the Lee <br />County Board of Education when he arrived. Commissioner Matthews moved to add this <br />item to the agenda. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Sands <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes of the August 18, 1997 closed session <br />• Minutes of the December 7, 1998 regular meeting <br />• Minutes of the December 14, 1998 regular meeting <br />• Resolution to designate an individual to make recommendations concerning <br />the suitability of a person/location for an ABC permit in Lee County (copy <br />attached) <br />• FY 1999/2000 Comnnmity Transportation Program Grant Application <br />• Special grant award from the North Carolina Division of Emergency <br />Management <br />001 <br />
