BOOK 1.7 NGF 50 <br />Chairman Hincks asked for public comments concerning the proposed Capital <br />Improvements Program (CIP) for 1999/00-2003/04. No one spoke concerning the <br />proposed CIP Program. Mr. Hincks closed the public hearings on these two budget <br />items. <br />Chairman Hincks opened joint public hearings with the Planning Board that had <br />been advertised for this date and time. Planner Althea Thompson outlined for the <br />Boards the first public hearing for a petition by George Henry Hall and Michael D. Hall <br />to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District, <br />approximately .70 acres of land at 2807 Cox Mill Road. <br />Mr. Henry Hall of 4608 Cox Mill Road spoke in favor of the request. Mr. Hall <br />told the Boards he planned to purchase the property and possibly convert the present <br />pottery business for the sale of produce and a fast food (carryout) grill. <br />The following individuals spoke in opposition to the rezoning petition: <br />Neil MacDonald, 2748 Cox Mill Road (also spoke on behalf of Mr. and <br />Mrs. Charles Harrison of 2508 John Rosser Road) <br />Stephen Hulsey, 2740 Cox Mill Road <br />Waylon Chandler, John Rosser Road <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the second rezoning request by Timothy Glasson to <br />rezone from Light Industrial Conditional Use District, approximately 5.56 acres of land <br />at 1062 Hickory House Road. <br />Mr. Timothy Glasson of 1062 Hickory House Road spoke in favor of the request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the final rezoning request by Marilyn Zone, agent for <br />the Sloan Estate, to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Light Industrial <br />District, approximately three acres of a 14.89 acre tract of land located on the north side <br />of Broadway Road. <br />Mrs. Marilyn Zone, Realtor with Simpson & Simpson, told the Boards that <br />Arden Corporation wishes to purchase the property and expand their facilities in <br />Sanford. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearings to hear comments concerning <br />amendments to the Lee County Zoning Ordinance. Planner Ron Satterfield discussed <br />proposed changes to the Ordinance and answered questions from Board members. <br />05 <br />4 <br />
