0 BGOK 1 7 PAGF 645 ® 008 <br />No one spoke in favor or in opposition to the road naming request. <br />Plainer Althea Thompson outlined the first rezoning request by Foremost <br />Properties, Inc. to rezone from Residential Restricted District to Highway Commercial <br />District, two lots at 1746 Westover Drive and 1913 Pendergrass Road. <br />Attorney Fred Webb, 502 N. Vance Street, representing Foremost Properties, <br />spoke in favor of the rezoning request. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the request. <br />Mrs. Thompson outlined the second rezoning request by Timothy Glasson to <br />amend a Conditional Use Permit for the location of a cabinet shop and tool supply sales <br />on 5.56 acres of land at 1062 Hickory House Road. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle outlined the procedure that must be followed for a <br />Conditional Use hearing and swore in Timothy Glasson, who would be speaking in <br />favor of the petition. <br />Mr. Timothy Glasson of 1062 Hickory House Road spoke in favor of the <br />request and presented evidence that he wished the two Boards to consider. <br />No one spoke in opposition to the rezoning request. <br />Community Development Director Reggie Scales gave a brief overview of the <br />proposed "Sanford and Lee County 2020 Land Use Plan." He read a list of the Land <br />Use Steering Committee members who had worked on this plan. He further told the <br />Board that neighborhood meetings in various locations of the County had been held and <br />The Sanford Herald had published a series of articles in the newspaper to make <br />individuals aware of the proposed plan. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of the Land Use Plan: <br />Lee County Economic Development Director Bob Heuts <br />John Daniel, 2250 Cape Jasmine Drive <br />David Finks, 185 Tree Cutters, Carolina Trace <br />Mr. Don Thurkhill of 1426 Zion Church Road told the Boards that he lived in <br />the Deep River Community and did not want to be annexed into the City of Sanford or <br />told what lie can or cannot do with his land. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner <br />Reives moved to adjourn the meeting.
