BOOK 17 RAGF 639 002 <br />• Continue the current ad valorem method of sales tax distribution for FY <br />1999-2000 <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Sanford Planning Board. At the <br />March 22, 1999 meeting the Board appointed John Woolard to serve as an alternate on <br />the Sanford Planning Board. Chairman Hincks had been informed by Planning staff <br />that Mr. Woolard lives outside the required one mile ETJ territory and is therefore <br />ineligible to serve. After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to appoint <br />Mark Lyczkowski to fill this vacancy. Commissioner Reives moved to close the <br />nominations. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the nomination of Mark Lyczkowski to the <br />Sanford Planning Board. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Sheriff Billy Bryant told the Board that he has entered into a "hand shake deal" <br />to allow federal marshals to bring "overflow" pre-trial prisoners to the Lee County Jail. <br />The jail is paid $50 per day for federal prisoners and any medical costs. He is currently <br />housing five federal inmates, but can hold up to fifteen prisoners at a time if space <br />pen-nits. If the space is needed for local prisoners, the federal marshal is contacted and <br />they pick up the federal prisoners. Commissioner Sauls moved to approve the housing <br />of federal prisoners at the Lee County Jail.
