Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was <br />in closed session. After completing business in closed session, Commissioner Garner <br />moved to go out of closed session. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The meeting recessed at 4:15 p.m. for a budget work session in the Gordon <br />Wicker Conference Room. Chairman Hincks opened the work session at 4:30 p.m. with <br />all Commissioners present. <br />Lee County School Superintendent Robert Logan and Board of Education <br />Chainnan Randy Mann asked the Board for additional money above the amount agreed <br />upon in the 1997 joint agreement between the Board of Education and the Lee County <br />Board of Commissioners. <br />Commissioners asked County Manager William Cowan various questions <br />concerning requested and recommended items in his 1999-2000 budget. No action was <br />taken on any budget matter. The Board decided to hold another budget work session on <br />Monday, May 24, 1999, at 7:00 a.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference Room. The work <br />session adjourned at 6:45 p.m, to the Old Lee County Courthouse for advertised public <br />hearings. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing to hear comments concerning the <br />proposed FY 1999/2000 budget.
