If approved, this petition would allow for future growth on 5.56 acres of land as <br />Mr. Glasson needs without him having to come before the Board of Commissioners or <br />Planing Board again for a public hearing. He would only have to meet all other <br />requirements for set-backs and restrictions before he could get his building permits. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the recommendation of the Planning Board to <br />approve this request. Commissioner Reives expressed concerns he had with this <br />request. After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal amended his motion to (1) <br />accept the recommendation of the Planning Board, (2) request that Mr. Glasson go <br />before the Planning Board for approval of any future site plans proposed on the 5.56 <br />acres, (3) waive any additional filing fees; and (4) waive any public hearings for <br />expansion on the 5.56 acres. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Gamer, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the interpretation of the phrase "provisionally suitable <br />soil" as it relates to the Lee County Zoning Ordinance. Community Development <br />Director Reggie Scales was instructed at the last meeting to provide a statement from <br />Health Department staff, Sanford Home Builders Association, Planning staff, and the <br />Planning Board for an interpretation of this phrase. Mr. Scales told the Board that the <br />definition found in the Environmental Health Regulations for "Site Classification" was <br />acceptable to all of the above individuals and staff. Commissioner Sauls moved to <br />accept the explanation as provided. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered matters relating to the Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) from the Division of Community Assistance. Commissioner Paschal <br />moved to approve the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS <br />FROM THE NC DIVISION OF COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Division of Community Assistance has <br />awarded the County of Lee, North Carolina, a Community Development Block Grant <br />(CDBG) for a scattered site housing project for housing rehabilitation, relocation, and <br />demolition activities in the amount of $350,000; and <br />5 <br />
