Bu ox V PAGE 739 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA *#**~k******#***+k ~k~rt>k**~k*#**#-k**~k%k+k>k******#>k**%k~#**##.k>k ~k ~k***%k*##**%K ~kM** JUNE 28, 1999 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John 1. Sauls. Chainnan Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. Commissioner John Sauls delivered the invocation. Bob Heuts lead the pledge of allegiance. The Board considered additional agenda items. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked that the Board complete the transaction between the County and Mrs. Ruby McSwain for property located at the intersection of US 91 South and Carthage Street, and enter into negotiations for the property. County Manager William Cowan asked the Board to (1) consider a contract for services provided under Tittle 11-A of the Job Training Partnership Act for Senior Services, and (2) submit a letter of support to the legislative delegation for a capital construction bond package for universities and community colleges. Commissioner Reives asked that the Board discuss the composition and make-up of Board appointments. Commissioner Matthews moved to add the above items to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of the following items: • Minutes of the June 7, 1999 regular meeting • Minutes of the June 7, 1999 closed session
