Bu ox V PAGE 739 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />*#**~k******#***+k ~k~rt>k**~k*#**#-k**~k%k+k>k******#>k**%k~#**##.k>k ~k ~k***%k*##**%K ~kM** <br />JUNE 28, 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 <br />Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad <br />Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, <br />Robert T. Reives, and John 1. Sauls. <br />Chainnan Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner John Sauls delivered the invocation. <br />Bob Heuts lead the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle <br />asked that the Board complete the transaction between the County and Mrs. Ruby <br />McSwain for property located at the intersection of US 91 South and Carthage Street, <br />and enter into negotiations for the property. County Manager William Cowan asked the <br />Board to (1) consider a contract for services provided under Tittle 11-A of the Job <br />Training Partnership Act for Senior Services, and (2) submit a letter of support to the <br />legislative delegation for a capital construction bond package for universities and <br />community colleges. Commissioner Reives asked that the Board discuss the <br />composition and make-up of Board appointments. Commissioner Matthews moved to <br />add the above items to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted <br />of the following items: <br />• Minutes of the June 7, 1999 regular meeting <br />• Minutes of the June 7, 1999 closed session <br />
