Chairman Hincks recessed the meeting until 7:00 p.m. Upon returning at 7:00 p.m. with all members present except Commissioner Reives, the meeting resumed. Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing which had been advertised for this date and time. Planner Althea Thompson outlined the rezoning petition submitted by John Daniel, agent for White Dog Properties, Inc. and Lee Littiken, to rezone from Residential Agricultural and Residential Restricted District to Light Industrial District, four (4) lots at 3001, 3005 and 3009 Hawkins Avenue. Mr. John Daniel of 2250 Cape Jasmine Drive spoke in favor of the rezoning request. No one spoke in opposition to the request. Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. Commissioner Garner moved to recess the meeting while the Planning Board deliberated on the rezoning request. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Sauls left the meeting at this time. After the Planning Board had deliberated on the rezoning request, Commissioner Garner moved to reconvene the meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, and Paschal Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board to approve the rezoning request by John Daniel.
