005 <br />BuCX P.'.CE $lw° <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a Workplace Violence Policy for Lee County submitted by <br />Bob Brown, Safety and Training Officer. Bob Brown informed the Board that the policy <br />had been written to comply with OSHA General Duty Clause 5(A)(1) titled "Workplace <br />Safe From Violence". K. R. Hoyle, County Attorney, stated he had reviewed the policy <br />and found it to be in compliance. Commissioner Garner asked that all verbal reports be <br />followed up with a written statement. After further discussion, Commissioner Adams <br />moved that the policy be approved with the addition that all verbal reports be followed up <br />with a written statement. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a bid for the purchase of public safety software for the <br />Sheriff's Department and a resolution to award a contract to purchase said software. <br />Lesa Price, MIS Director, reported to the Board that Southern Software Solutions had <br />been the low bidder to provide public safety software for the Lee County Sheriffs <br />Department. After discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to award the bid to Southern <br />Software Solutions for the sum not to exceed $88,595.00 and to approve the resolution to <br />award the contract to Southern Software Solutions for the purchase of public safety <br />software for the Lee County Sheriffs Department, a copy of which is attached hereto and <br />made a part of these minutes. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a Grant Agreement for the Clean Water and Management <br />Trust Fund. Reggie Scales, Director, Sanford/Lee County Department of Community <br />Development, reported to the Board that the City of Sanford and County of Lee had been <br />awarded a $765,000 grant from the Clean Water Management Trust Fund for buffer <br />acquisition along Little Buffalo Creek. It is a requirement that both the Sanford City <br />Council and the Board of Commissioners approve the grant agreement, the City Council <br />having already done so. After discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to approve the <br />grant agreement and authorize its execution and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />5 <br />
