BOCK V PIGE 808 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />V <br />AUGUST 23, 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. <br />Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and John 1. Sauls. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was <br />absent when the meeting was called to order but joined the meeting while it was in <br />progress. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />In the absence of Gaynell M. Lee, Clerk to the Board, Commissioner Paschal <br />moved that Cheryl F. Morris be appointed as Acting Clerk for the purpose of this <br />meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: <br />Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal and Sauls <br />Nay: <br />None <br />Absent: <br />Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle, Sr. delivered the invocation. <br />Bob Obermeyer lead the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additions and deletions to the agenda. Commissioner <br />Adams asked that an item be added to Old Business as 111. A. as to update the Board of <br />the on-going discussions with the Lee County Board of Education as it relates to school <br />safety. Chairman Hincks asked the Board to consider deleting items fl. H. and IV. P. <br />from the agenda. Commissioner Garner moved to approve both requests and that the <br />agenda be adopted as amended. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: <br />Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: <br />None <br />Absent: <br />Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />001 <br />
