f ; 17 P cE 839 0 4. • Proclamation to proclaim September 17-30, 1999 as Litter Sweep in Lee County (copy attached) • Authorization to award one day paid vacation as a prize in the United Way Campaign • Resolution of appreciation to the Lee County Local Emergency Planning Committee (copy attached) Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls Nay: None Absent: Reives The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Sauls read aloud and presented the resolution of appreciation to Emergency Management Director Warren Lee, Chairman of the Lee County Local Emergency Planning Committee. The Board considered an appeal of penalty on business personal property tax for National Textiles. Commissioner Adams moved to approve National Textiles' request to waive the penalty on their business personal property tax. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Garner, Matthews, and Paschal Nay: Adams, Hincks, and Sauls Absent Reives The Chainnan ruled that a majority vote had not been received and therefore the motion did not pass. The Board considered three appointments to the Sanford Board of Adjustments. Commissioner Matthews nominated Vicki Brooks Gentry and moved that the other two appointments be made at the next meeting on September 20, 1999. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls Nay: None Absent: Reives The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered a resolution recognizing the achievements of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Boys 13-14 year old baseball All-Stars. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the resolution, a copy of which is attached to these minutes 2
