f ; 17 P cE 839 0 4. <br />• Proclamation to proclaim September 17-30, 1999 as Litter Sweep in Lee <br />County (copy attached) <br />• Authorization to award one day paid vacation as a prize in the United Way <br />Campaign <br />• Resolution of appreciation to the Lee County Local Emergency Planning <br />Committee (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Sauls read aloud and presented the resolution of appreciation to <br />Emergency Management Director Warren Lee, Chairman of the Lee County Local <br />Emergency Planning Committee. <br />The Board considered an appeal of penalty on business personal property tax for <br />National Textiles. Commissioner Adams moved to approve National Textiles' request to <br />waive the penalty on their business personal property tax. Upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Matthews, and Paschal <br />Nay: Adams, Hincks, and Sauls <br />Absent Reives <br />The Chainnan ruled that a majority vote had not been received and therefore the <br />motion did not pass. <br />The Board considered three appointments to the Sanford Board of Adjustments. <br />Commissioner Matthews nominated Vicki Brooks Gentry and moved that the other two <br />appointments be made at the next meeting on September 20, 1999. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution recognizing the achievements of the Lee <br />County Parks and Recreation Boys 13-14 year old baseball All-Stars. Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to approve the resolution, a copy of which is attached to these minutes <br />2 <br />
