l Gos V P,aGE 857 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ***:k~**:k**~******:ky:*x*****W**M~:r*%FM*~:;e~*~*:k~~:*****x *%k~x%F %k*~***********:k September 20, 1999 *#~k*~:k*:k:k**&**#:k~*:kX=:k#:K=k*4~*:k:kM%kW:Kick:k:kv,:-k~*%k%k*~%k:k**~~#~: ~k ~;k*******#**:k**~k:k The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State J of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and John I. Sauls. Commissioners F. Hubert Gamer and Robert T. Reives were absent. Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. Rev. Jack Hunter, Minister of Jones Chapel Church delivered the invocation. Mike Hanes led the pledge of allegiance. The Board considered additional agenda items. Chairman Hincks asked that the Board consider a proclamation to proclaim September 19-25, 1999 as "POW/MIA RECOGNTTION WEEK" in Lee County, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof Commissioner Matthews asked that the Board consider forwarding a letter to the North Carolina Department of Transportation asking that a traffic study be conducted on the portion of Greenwood Road from the railroad to Willett Road, for the placement of "No Passing" signs. Commissioner Adams moved to add the above items to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls Nay: None Absent: Garner and Reives The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Reives joined the meeting at this time. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of the following items: • Minutes of the September 7, 1999 regular meeting • Tax Releases and Refunds for August, 1999 (copy attached)
