0 0 3 <br />BCCR 17 P'GE 901 <br />WHEREAS, the complexities of their individual problems and the divergence of <br />their activities may lead to a widening gap of misunderstanding; and <br />WHEREAS, any gap of misunderstanding must be eliminated, and each group <br />must understand the other if our American way of life is to endure; and <br />WHEREAS, Farm City Week provides an unparalleled experience for farm and <br />city people to become better acquainted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Lee County Board of Commissioners do hereby <br />proclaim the period of November 21-27, 1999 to be Farm-City Week. We do further <br />call upon all citizens of this County and City to participate to the limit of their capabilities <br />in the joint visits, seminars, pageants, fairs, and civic and social events associated with a <br />successful Faun-City Week in the City of Sanford and Lee County. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered recommendations from the Planning Board. Planner <br />Althea Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the <br />petition by James C. Clifton to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Highway <br />Commercial District, one acre of land located on the west side of Hawkins Avenue, <br />beginning at the northeast corner of a private drive that leads to the Northview Church of <br />Christ. Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the recommendation of the Planning <br />Board. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mrs. Thompson told the Board that the Planning Board recommended approval of the <br />preliminary subdivision plat for Upchurch Fann Subdivision, which is located off Swann <br />Station Road. After some discussion, Commissioner Sauls moved to approve the <br />recommendation of the Planning Board. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Adams and Reives <br />3 <br />
