not <br />BOCK V P.11GE 945 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />DECEMBER 6, 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert <br />J Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, <br />and John I. Sauls. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Chairman Hincks delivered the invocation. <br />Sheriff Billy Bryant led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Garner asked that <br />the Board (1) consider a letter of support for LEE CAN, and (2) waive the current gym <br />fees for the newly organized Provisions Academy. Commissioner Matthews asked that <br />the Board receive an update on child support cases from a Social Services staff person. <br />Commissioner Adams asked that the Board send a get-well card to Social Services <br />employee Linda Stradford. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the addition of <br />the above items to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sal1IS <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks recognized County Attorney K. R. Hoyle who conducted the <br />election of a Chairman for a one-year tern. Ballots were passed out and tabulated with <br />the following votes recorded: <br />COMMISSIONER VOTED FOR <br />Adams <br />I-lincks <br />Garner <br />Matthews <br />Hincks <br />Hincks <br />Matthews <br />Matthews <br />
