Lee Camp 1803 be asked <br />to submit future requests to the Board of Commissioners instead of the County Manager. <br />The Board considered two grant pre-applications from the Sheriff's Department. <br />Domestic Violence Investigator James Estes asked that the Board consider and approve a <br />grant pre-application for 548,000 from the Governor's Crime Commission for second <br />year funding of a Domestic Violence Investigator position. He told the Board that the <br />County currently contributes S 16,000 in in-kind services for this grant. He also asked <br />that the Board consider and approve a grant pre-application from the Governor's Crime <br />Commission for 593,662 to purchase sixteen mobile data terminals that will be placed in <br />three patrol cars and all detective cars that currently do not have terminals. After sonic discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to <br />approve the receipt of the above grants. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board that the <br />City of Sanford conveyed the Park Street property to Lee County, giving the County title <br />as long as the property is used for park and recreational purposes. 'rhe Optimist Club of <br />Sanford, Inc. has indicated that it would like to purchase the old NYA building located on <br />Tryon Street. The Optimist Club has worked out a lease with the City of Sanford and the <br />Commissioners must adopt a resolution scheduling a public hearing on the matter. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to schedule a public hearing on the above <br />matter for 3:00 p.m. at the January 18, 2000 meeting.
