THOMAS <br />LEE COUNTY N.C. <br />.JANUARY 3, 2000 <br />J The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert <br />Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, <br />and John 1. Sauls. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />James Estes delivered the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. Commissioner Garner asked that <br />the Board consider asking the Department of Transportation to place US #1 South road <br />signs on 1-440 in the Raleigh area. Commissioner Matthews asked that Lee County <br />Wildlife Officer Bryan SwRuggs be invited to the next meeting to discuss Lee County <br />hunting regulations. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the addition of the <br />above items to the agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chainnan ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />• Minutes of the December 6, 1999 meeting <br />• Minutes of the December 13, 1999 meeting of the Connectivity/Internet <br />Steering Committee <br />• Request from General Robert E. Lee Camp #803 to fly the First National <br />Confederate Flag on January 19, 2000 at the Lee County Courthouse <br />• Resolution of appreciation to Reginald T. Scales <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />
